ECE Associate Professor Arijit Raychowdhury has been selected for a 2015 Intel Early Career Faculty Award.
Arijit RaychowdhuryArijit Raychowdhury has been selected for a 2015 Intel Early Career Faculty Award. An associate professor in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) since January 2013, Raychowdhury also holds the ON Semiconductor Junior Professorship.
The Intel Early Career Faculty Honor Program promotes the careers of faculty members who show great promise as future academic leaders in disruptive computing technologies, and it also fosters long-term collaborative relationships with senior Intel technical leaders.
Raychowdhury leads the Integrated Circuits and Systems Research Lab at Tech. His research interests include digital and mixed-signal circuit design, design of on-chip sensors, memory, and device-circuit interactions. He holds more than 25 U.S. and international patents and has published over 100 articles in refereed journals and conferences.
Prior to joining Tech, Raychowdhury was a research scientist at Intel for five years. He graduated with his Ph.D. in ECE from Purdue University in 2007 and his B.E. in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, located in Kolkata, India.
Raychowdhury recently became ECE’s first recipient of the National Science Foundation CISE Research Initiation Initiative (CRII) Award, which supports research for new faculty members within the first two years of their tenure position. Prior to his arrival at Tech, he won the Intel Labs Technical Contribution Award in 2011, several best paper honors, and top awards for his doctoral research while at Purdue University. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery.
