On Saturday, October 24, downtown Douglasville was home to the second Georgia
Gravity Games. Youth and adults from across the state filled the streets as 30 teams raced their own gravity-powered cars.
Jibri Flood, Christian-Hunter Harris, Sampson Pierce, and Darryn Waters of the Georgia Tech Horizons Team, "Swarm", all participated in the Georgia Gravity Games Soap Box Derby Race in Douglasville. They built and decorated their own soap box car for the competition. Christian-Hunter was the driver and Jibri, Sampson, and Darryn served as his support crew. Christian-Hunter's older brother Michael-Christopher also volunteered with the team. The team did quite well, winning their first three races before losing the next two and being eliminated from the tournament. "We plan to go back next year and bring home the trophy for the whole thing!"
Georgia Tech's CEISMC provided the inspection crew for all the cars in the competition. CEISMC would also like to congratulate all the Gravity Games participants and the 2015 winners:
