Craig Zimring, a professor in Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture and director of the SimTigrate Design Lab, has won the 2015 EDRA Career Award. This is an award given by the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) to candidates who are active in the design research area; have made significant and continuous contributions to establishing an evidence base for the relationship between environment and behavior; and have positively inspired students throughout the years.
Zimring, also an environmental psychologist at the school, won this award for his contributions to the field over the past 30 years. He was one of the first researchers to develop methodologies and write about evidence-based design and had a significant role in making evidence-based design a standard practice in healthcare design research.
