Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

History, poetry, and tragedy collide when Roger Guenveur Smith tackles the thorny odyssey of Rodney King from the harsh initial glare of the national spotlight as the victim of police brutality to the controversial trial verdict, the L.A. riots, and his lonely death at the bottom of a swimming pool. In this riveting, improvised performance, Smith captures the story of a flawed, good-hearted everyman, and by extension reveals America’s endlessly complicated relationship with its racial past and present. Smith's acting credits include the films Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Summer of Sam, and American Gangster, and the HBO series K Street and Oz. Students may reserve a free ticket by stopping by the Ferst Center Box Office. Limited quantities are available.
