There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Natural gas is gaining a growing share of the global energy spectrum. As a low-cost, low carbon energy source, natural gas is replacing coal in the power sector and is becoming the fuel of choice for other industrial sectors, including exports, transportation, and chemicals. Widespread conversion to natural gas will require considerable investment, expansion of infrastructure, and long-term environmental considerations. This session will explore many of the logistical, economic, and engineering challenges of natural gas conversion and discuss national and regional strategies for deployment.
