Three of the four Georgia Tech Choirs present a concert of sacred and secular choral music on Sunday, November 15 2015 at 3.00 PM in the sanctuary of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church. The concert will feature the GT Chorale under the direction of Dr. Timothy Hsu, the GT Women’s Choir, directed by Professor Janice Folsom, and the GT Chamber Choir, directed by Dr. Jerry Ulrich.
Musical selections include works by Spanish Renaissance composers Morales and Victoria, as well as works by Edward Elgar, Francis Poulenc, Zoltán Kodály, and American composer Charles Ives. All three choirs will combine to perform a premiere transcription of Ives’ The Unanswered Question. The concert will also feature various modern settings of the 13th Century plainsong Pange Lingua by Thomas Aquinas, interspersed between the choral works.
The concert is free, and parking is available at the church for no charge. Druid Hills Presbyterian Church is located in Virginia Highland, Atlanta, across from the Majestic Diner at 1026 Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA 30306.
