Breakthrough Atlanta (BA) is a part of the national collaborative Breakthrough and is located at The Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia. Breakthrough Atlanta believes in the power of education to change young peoples' lives radically. BA believes the middle school years are the critical crossroads where students make choices that will affect their futures dramatically. Breakthrough Atlanta is passionate in its belief that every child deserves access to an excellent education and the encouragement to succeed.
BA provides an arena of instruction, skills, and encouragement-as well as mentoring by professional teachers. The goal is simple: to provide the academic instruction, social skills, and confidence students need to succeed on the pathway to college-and in life.
There are no pre-requisites for a teaching position with Breakthrough, however, applicants must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA (or better), be able to pass a drug test, and have a satisfactory background check.
Georgia Tech undergraduates who are accepted as teaching fellows may also receive audited credit hours (no tuition or fees) and transcript designation of the internship.
