SCaRP alumna Sally Bethea (MCP '80), retired executive director of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, often spends time in Atlanta's Piedmont Park. In her piece for Atlanta Intown, she emphasizes the importance of "common ground" spaces, and how they can affect their surrounding communities. "Like other places of “common ground,” this public park draws wondrous varieties of people: their activities, languages, costumes, sports, music, food and celebrations," she says. "The ever-changing tableau never fails to invigorate me."

Read more about her love of common ground, and the nonprofits that help support such spaces, in the Atlanta Intown article.
