Quick Tips for Presenting Your Research: a Guide for International Presenters

Do you get nervous when you need to talk about your research in English? Are you worried that your audience may not understand you?  A common issue among non-native English speakers in American academia is that they know their research well, but when the time comes to orally present the material, they stumble.  This workshop will target common pronunciation and oral communication challenges non-native English speakers face and help participants gain more confidence in their ability to talk about their research.

Katherine Samford, Campus Coordinator and Lecturer from the Language Institute, will present strategies for oral communication and lead activities that will engage participants in practicing research presentation skills.  This workshop is a precursor to the four-week course “Communicating Research and Presentation Skills for International Students” and is open to GT graduate students and Post-Docs.
