Summaries

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Ashok Goel of the School of Interactive Computing will lead a session about the use of IBM's Watson cognitive system in education at Georgia Tech. He used Watson for teaching and learning in his Spring 2015 class on Computational Creativity, and is now preparing to use it in two of his classes in Spring 2016, including the OMSCS course on Knowledge-Based AI. We will discuss:

  • How the Computational Creativity class in Spring 2015 used Watson
  • The products and results of using Watson in the class
  • For what additional domains can the Computational Creativity class use Watson in Spring 2016?
  • How might the Georgia Tech OMSCS program use Watson for online learning?
  • What are some of the best practices for using Watson for education in general?

The Thursday Think Tank is a weekly gathering of the IPaT community to brainstorm about research, and stay informed about the work that everyone is doing. Come interact with colleagues and engage on topics of shared interest.
