There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The Student Advisory Council of the Institute for Materials will host an ice cream social in order to introduce more students to the work of the Institute on behalf of students in various areas of materials science.
The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Parker H. Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience atrium, 315 Ferst Dr. NW.
The social is just one aspect of the service provided to IMat by the SAC.
"These students are really the face of the Institute," said David L. McDowell, IMat's executive director. "They provide critical feedback to us directly from the student body on how better we can do our job to assist them throughout their time here at Georgia Tech. This event really serves as an introductio, a chance to get to know one another. It helps us formulate our goals for student outreach in the coming year."
