There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Twice a year, typically in March and October, the sun, satellite, and ground-based satellite dishes will be in perfect alignment. On those days, the sun's energy will overload the satellite receiver and cause signal loss for a few minutes. This will cause brief outages of selected GTCN channels for the duration of the interference.
This year, the interference is predicted to occur from October 4th-12th from approximately 4:00pm to 5:30pm each day. Individual channels will be impacted for an average of 10 minutes after which time service should be restored. Please see below for a complete list of affected channels and approximate timings.
It is not necessary to submit a help request or notify us of channel outages during this time. If you have other issues with your cable television service, please contact us.
Please see the Excel spreadsheet located here for a complete list of affected channels. Channels are listed on the left with affected times for each day on the right. Note that all timings are approximate - outages may be longer or shorter depending on the duration of solar activity.
