Arijit Raychowdhury has been selected for a CISE Research Initiation Initiative (CRII) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Raychowdhury is an associate professor in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and is the first ECE faculty member to receive this honor.

CRII is a new program under the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) at NSF. It is aimed at supporting research for new faculty members within the first two years of their tenure-track position. This two-year-long award will support Raychowdhury’s research in the area of novel controls strategies for embedded DC-DC converters and voltage regulators targeted for low-power digital circuits.

Raychowdhury has been a member of the ECE faculty since January 2013 where he leads the Integrated Circuits and Systems Research Lab. Prior to joining Tech, he was a research scientist at Intel for five years and graduated with his Ph.D. in ECE from Purdue University in 2007. Raychowdhury’s research interests include low power digital and mixed-signal circuit design, design of power converters and sensors, and exploring interactions of circuits with device technologies.
