There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

We would like to invite you to attend the forth "GIS in Teaching & Research" symposium -- a Strategic Initiative of the University System of Georgia -- to be held in the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) Klaus Building Room 1116 on Thursday and Friday, February 14 and 15, 2008.
As always, the primary goal of the initiative is to provide a forum to allow University System of Georgia faculty and researchers to share GIS expertise and experience.
In addition to the 2-day core symposium, and as an added bonus this year, an Option Day will be offered on February 13th. The Option Day will allow additional participation in one of the following focused workshops (schedule/format forthcoming):
GIS for Facilities Mapping (link to past workshop for reference)
GIS for Conservation in Georgia (new topic!)
As in the past, presenters at the core symposium will represent wide ranges of discipline from across the university system and the sessions will be designed to promote information exchange among the participants. Please join your colleagues in exploring the various ways GIS is being integrated with curriculum and research.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
To register for the core 2-day symposium, an Option Day workshop and/or to submit a proposal for presentation (deadline: Jan. 24), vist http://gisconf.gis.gatech.edu/register.php.
We look forward to seeing you.
