Dr. Maria Vlasiou is a faculty candidate in the H. Milton Stewart School of Indsutrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE). She will be presenting on Tuesday, February 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Abstract and title to be announced. This seminar is open to the public.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Maria Vlasiou is currently a Research Engineer II in the Stewart School of ISyE. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, and holds a Mathematics degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. During the 2001-2002 academic year, she worked at the University of Bielefeld in Germany.
Dr. Vlasiou's research interests are in stochastic processes and stochastic operations research with applications in manufacturing, call centers, warehousing, healthcare logistics, and traffic control. Her honors include four scholarships from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and a five-year grant for post-graduate studies.
