Springboarding off of last week's topic of Connected Living, we'll be taking a look at the broader scope of the Internet of Things (IoT). Russ Clark and Bill Eason of IPaT's Research Network Operations Center (RNOC) have been digging into the IoT space of late and finding all sorts of opportunities for us to explore. They will share what they’ve learned and introduce some of the larger challenges facing this revolution, including scalability, hidden costs, security, and privacy. Come join us for discussions around questions such as:

  • What does living in a fully-connected environment really look like?
  • Where do the greatest value and opportunities lie within the IoT landscape?
  • How can IoT improve our society and our quality of life?
  • How are Georgia Tech, and IPaT in particular, uniquely positioned to help lead this charge?

The Thursday Think Tank is a weekly gathering of the IPaT community to brainstorm about research, and stay informed about the work that everyone is doing. Come interact with colleagues and engage on topics of shared interest.
