The Emerging Green Builders is a U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) program working to integrate students and young professionals into the green building movement.
Anyone interested in becoming more involved in green building from any discipline of study or practice is welcome to participate in EGB. Largely this group is comprised of students and young professionals, but EGB also
incorporates seasoned professionals who are new to the green building industry.
Georgia Tech students are starting an EGB chapter to create a network of emerging green building leaders, develop opportunities for involvement through the USGBC, and to further generate momentum for the green building industry.
At the kick-off meeting, the group will address the following topics:
- Greenprints Conference
- LEED AP preparation series
- USGBC Atlanta events
- Green Building tours
- Eco-networking
and more...
EGB groups around the country offer young people the opportunity to get involved in green building locally, gain access to USGBC resources, and participate in local events. EGB projects include:
- the annual USGBC Natural Talent Design Competition
- a forum at Greenbuild
- a job/internship posting list resources for green building
- education and university programs
