Professor Guolong Lin, the Director of Logistics Research Center and Arbitator of China Maritime Arbitration Commission from Shanghai Maritime University will visit ISyE on April 8. He will give a talk at 11.

Title: Perspectives of Supply Chain in China, and Survey Results

Abstract:
In this talk, Prof. Lin will first provide an overview of logistics and the evolvement of distribution systems in China. He will compare the logistics infrastructure and performance among Asia Pacific region, and point out various bottlenecks in production, consolidation, customs and transportation. Finally, he will present the survey results from users and providers of logistics services. The survey results include inventory turns, costs, material handling in both production and retail segments. The survey also provides an insight into market demand and provider capacities. Prof. Lin will finally share some of his own views in the future of the logistics in China.
