Summary Sentence: Packaging Corp. of America Information Session

Full Summary: Representatives from Packaging Corp. of America will be on campus on Wednesday, Nov. 5, to introduce Georgia Tech students to their company and inform them of potential employment opportunities.

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a world-class manufacturer of containerboard and corrugated packaging. Our focus on a single line of business not only differentiates us from our major competitors, but also helps us achieve levels of operational excellence that are highly respected within the industry. With 2007 net sales of $2.3 billion and 8,350 employees, PCA produced 2.4 million tons of containerboard and shipped 31.2 billion square feet of corrugated products.

In 2007, we produced 1.5 million tons of kraft linerboard at our mills in Counce, TN and Valdosta, GA. We also produced 939,000 tons of semi-chemical medium at our mills in Tomahawk, WI and Filer City, MI. Our 67 converting operations produce a wide variety of corrugated packaging products, including conventional shipping containers used to protect and transport manufactured goods. We also produce multi-color boxes and displays with strong visual appeal that help to merchandise packaged products in retail locations.
