No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Georgia Tech researchers Britney Schmidt an Earth and Atmospheric Sciences professor and Mick West a Senior Research Engineer at the Georgia Tech Research Institute are utilizing the environment underneath Antarctica's largest ice shelf to explore the ocean floor with the aid of a robotic vehicle, Icefin. The purpose of this research is to collect data and video to better understand what scientists believe may be a similar environment on Europa, one of Jupiter's icy moons. Full story
