There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

TITLE: An integrated production-distribution model with inventory considerations

SPEAKER: Aly Megahed

ABSTRACT:

Much research has been conducted in the area of supply chain network design. Problems and challenges addressed include the location of facilities, allocation of customer demand to different facilities, multi-commodity planning, inventory accumulation, and production decisions. However, the majority of research efforts address these problems separately, or consider only two or three simultaneously.

In this presentation, we present a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model that addresses the above mentioned challenges in a single model. The result is a capacitated three echelon multi-commodity dynamic production- distribution model with inventory accumulation onsideration (CTMDPI). The study was motivated by and implemented for gsf Egypt, a multinational industrial company that supplies McDonalds and many fast food restaurants in Egypt with most of their requirements.
