About Cooper
Since establishing Cooper Carry in 1960, Jerry Cooper has helped guide the firm to a position of national prominence. Under his tenure, Cooper Carry has developed a well-earned reputation for consistency of quality architecture. In 1987, the firm received the Atlanta Chapter AIA (American Institute of Architects) Silver Medal for Design Excellence. Over the last 40-plus years, Cooper Carry has received more than 100 design awards. Individually, Cooper has received the Rothschild Medal, the highest award granted by the AIA Georgia Chapter, and the Leadership Award, which was given by the AIA Atlanta Chapter in recognition of his professional talent. Cooper was also recognized by the AIA for his design excellence and long-standing involvement in the profession by being elevated to "Fellow" within the organization. He is currently an active leader in several of the firm's practices, including Office, Corporate and Government.

Cooper is a Fellow with the American Institute of Architects (FAIA). He holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a Fulbright Fellowship to the Universite di Roma in Rome, Italy and was a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome, Italy in 1997. Cooper is registered in 21 states and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
