There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) this week announced that AE professor Dr. Dewey H. Hodges has been elected a Fellow of the 134-year-old organization.
Hodges's elevation puts him in an elite cadre among ASME's 140,172 members, only 3,305 of whom have received "Fellow" status. His new status will be formally recognized by ASME in the November 2014 edition of the organization's Mechanical Engineering Magazine.
"The ASME Fellow is another reflection of Dr. Hodges's many accomplishments and contributions to our profession. The entire School joins me in congratulating him in this well-deserved honor," said AE School Chair Dr. Vigor Yang.
In addition to the ASME Fellow designation, Hodges has been named a Fellow by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Helicopter Society (AHS) and the American Academy of Mechanics (AAM).
A member of the Georgia Tech School of Aerospace Engineering faculty since 1986, Hodges has published four books and authored more than 340 papers in the fields of rotorcraft dynamics, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, structural mechanics and stability, computational mechanics, and optimal control. He earned his masters and doctorate at Stanford University, and served for 16 years as a research scientist at the U.S. Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate.
ASME is a professional organization that promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe through continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach.
