Drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have become a lot more than a high tech toy for a weekend hobbyist. UAV are now changing the transportion industry.
Georgia Tech School of Building Construction Professor, Javier Irizarry, co-authored a recent study with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The results demonstrated more than 40 tasks where GDOT could benefit from use of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
Through the CONECTech Lab, Irizarry is researching ways to utilize technology as a solution to assist people at work, home, and now as they commute. His research on UAV technology is getting international interest.
