Atri Dutta is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Princeton University.  He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Aerospace Engineering, Georgia Tech in 2005 and 2009, respectively, under the guidance of Professor Panagiotis Tsiotras.  Before joining Georgia Tech in the Fall of 2003, Atri completed his B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2002.

During his doctoral studies, he developed a multi-disciplinary optimization framework to determine optimal cooperative and non-cooperative Peer-to-Peer maneuvers for refueling multiple satellites in circular constellations.  After his Ph.D., he was a Research Engineer at Georgia Tech and investigated new multilevel conflict resolution strategies for En Route air traffic.  At Princeton, he developed an optimization methodology to minimize satellite solar array degradation in the Van Allen radiation belts during electric orbit-raising.  He is currently investigating design of power and propulsion subsystems for all-electric telecommunications satellites.

Atri will be joining the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Wichita State University, as an Assistant Professor in Spring 2014.  His research interests are in the areas of optimal control, mixed-integer programming, space dynamics, mission design, optimization of aerospace systems and operations.
