Dr. Jennifer P. Byrne has joined the School of AE Advisory Council (AESAC). Dr. Byrne is Vice President, Aeronautics, Technical Operations for Lockheed Martin Corporation. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading the Corporation's design, development, operation, and sustainment of F-35, F-22, F-16, C-130, U-2, P-3, S-3, C-5 and other aircraft. Her organization's capabilities span engineering disciplines including air vehicle systems, mission systems and software, materials design, signature management, flight operation, total lifecycle logistics and other services provided to an increasingly international customer base.

Previously, Dr. Byrne was Vice President of Programs, Products, and Solutions for Lockheed Martin Corporation's Integrated Systems and Global Solutions-Defense business. In that role, she was responsible for 8,000 engineers developing Information Technology solutions for the Department of Defense from October 2011 to July 2012.

She previously served as Lockheed Martin Corporation's Corporate Vice President, Technology.  In that role, she was charged with positioning Lockheed Martin as a differentiated leader in mission cirtical technology driven programs from January 2009 to October 2011.

Throughout her career, Dr. Byrne has led several critical initiatives for Lockheed Martin Corporation, including start-up of Global Technology Initiatives and program turnaround as Program Director for GeoScout National System for Geospatial-Intelligence Programs.

Dr. Byrne is a Lockheed Martin Fellow Emeritus for her work in multiple aperture imaging.  She is a member of the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association Technology Board.  She serves on the advisory board for India's Innovation Lab and on advisory boards for Pennsylvania State University Enterprise Architecture and for University of Texas-Pan America Engineering.  Dr. Byrne is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and Women in Aerospace.  She is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) where she serves on the selection committee for their prestigious IEEE Simon Ramo Medal.

Dr. Byrne is a graduate of the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.  She earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Temple University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Systems Engineering from the George Washington University.
