No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. AE graduate student Soumyo Dutta was awarded the 2013 Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Scholarship by the National Space Club for his work in the development of advanced estimation techniques with application to entry, descent and landing system performance and vehicle design. The award was presented during the Club's annual Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner, a black tie event on Friday, March 22 in Washington, D.C. Soumyo is the second AE graduate student in four years to receive this national honor.
Dr. Robert H. Goddard is known as America's rocket pioneer and the award given in his name aims to stimulate the interest of talented students in the opportunity to advance scientific knowledge through space research and exploration.
The National Space Club is a non-profit organization devoted to fostering excellence in space activity through interaction between industry and government, and through a continuing program of educational support. Awards are offered to recognize significant achievements in space science and enterprise. Scholarships and other education support are a major focus of Club activity.
