Student Center Visitor Lot Closing for Renovations

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Beginning Tuesday, June 30, the Area 2 Visitor Lot adjacent to the Student Center and Smithgall Student Services Building will be closed for renovations. Construction is expected to be completed by Friday, August 14.

All vehicles must be removed from Area 2 by 11:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29. The Area 3 Visitors Parking Lot (across from Stamps Health Services and CRC) will be available during the construction.

Improvements to the lot include additional bicycle racks, enhanced vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow, as well as safety and compliance upgrades.

Special care will be given to maintain safety and reduce noise levels during finals week as well as FASET orientation sessions. Pedestrian walkways will be maintained and clearly marked around the construction site. Work hours are scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
