John Laughter is the Senior Vice President, Maintenance Operations at Delta Air Lines, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. His responsibilities recently expanded to include leading the Technical Operations division. In this position, Laughter directs TechOps’ worldwide maintenance operations including airframe, engine, component and line. Laughter is responsible for the safe and reliable execution of all Delta maintenance as well as TechOps’ growing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business. Laughter is responsible for over a more than $2.5B operation which is comprised of 56 maintenance stations and 7,700 employees worldwide who maintain more than 700 aircraft and service over 2,400 flights daily.

Previously, Laughter was Director, Materials & Planning, with responsibility for forecasting and allocation of all TechOps maintenance demand as well as management and allocation of TechOps' inventory. He also had operational responsibility for the warehousing, distribution and logistics of all TechOps inventory on the Delta network. In this role, he led multiple initiatives to streamline and optimize Delta’s maintenance plan through lean maintenance and enterprise planning techniques.

He began his career in 1993 as an Aircraft Structural Engineer at Delta and held various leadership positions in the Engineering group, including Interiors Engineering and new aircraft acquisition.

Laughter holds a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from Emory University's Goizueta Business School. He also sits on the Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity Board and served on the 2012 Campaign Cabinet for the United Way Atlanta. Laughter, his wife Angela Evans Laughter (AE ’94), and four sons live in Atlanta, Georgia.
