The School of Aerospace Engineering recently received a wonderful gift from Mrs. Marion Burnett that will provide scholarships to AE students through the John Harrison Burnett Endowment Fund. Marion said, “I made a gift to AE in honor of my husband, John, who was an aerospace engineer. We lived in Atlanta for 52 years, and we came to love Georgia Tech.” Living in Atlanta for many years made Georgia Tech a part of Marion’s life with its great traditions. She said, “ I was aware of Georgia Tech as a teenager, hearing the “Ramblin’ Wreck” song, and especially when Georgia Tech played Notre Dame.” Marion also had friends who graduated from Tech.
As a donor, Marion and her family are enjoying getting to know the students who receive the scholarships. “I was very pleased that the young person who was supported by the John Harrison Burnett Endowment Fund wrote to me. I wrote him back and told him I hoped he would give back one day, too.”
The School of Aerospace Engineering is very grateful for donors like Marion, who enable the School to attract the best and brightest students.
