IPST’s Pressurized Entrained Flow Reactor (PEFR), now located in Georgia Tech’s Carbon-Neutral Energy Systems (C-NES) building, served as the backdrop for a major announcement by General Motors on January 10, 2013. The company announced the opening of a new IT innovation facility in Roswell, Ga. The facility should employ about 1,000 people over the next three to five years, providing high-paying, high-tech jobs. Georgia Tech president G.P. “Bud” Peterson and Governor Nathan Deal were among the officials who participated in the announcement at C-NES.
