There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. Dr. Gisele Bennett, director of the Georgia Tech Research Institute's (GTRI) Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory and a professor in Georgia Tech's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, testified before the U.S. House of Representatives' Science and Technology Committee Forum in Augusta, Georgia, on April 4, 2008.
Bennett's remarks focused on concerns relating to unauthorized opening of cargo containers. She highlighted a container door sensor recently developed at GTRI that is designed to monitor the opening of shipping container doors and covers the time from loading/arming through transportation and disarming at a United States port of arrival.
