Teri Williams, Executive Director of the Robert C. Williams Papermaking Museum, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Hand Papermaking. Teri joins papermaking artists and artisans on the Board. Hand Papermaking publishes an award-winning newsletter that is a fine repository of information and inspiration on the art and craft of hand papermaking. Each issue features articles on a variety of topics within the field, including artistic approaches, craft techniques, historical topics, international development, and educational initiatives. Articles are written by experts in the field, many of them practitioners, and each magazine includes at least one unique sample of handmade paper. The latest issue, Winter 2013, focuses on “knowledge custodians”— individuals and institutions who accumulate and propagate the skills and traditions of handmade paper. The magazine has a subscriber base of some 1200 individuals, museums, libraries and universities. Subscribers reflect the growing population of those interested in this field for artistic, educational and environmental reasons. Teri commented, “I am so pleased to be a part of this organization. Its mission and its outreach are consistent with our goals at the papermaking museum.”
