The Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative will hold it’s Southeast Regional Summit Thursday, July 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel and Conference Center.

The summit is presented by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Special guest speakers include Georgia Tech President Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson and Assistant Secretary (EERE), U.S. Department of Energy Dr. David Danielson, among other senior Department of Energy leaders.

The summit convenes leaders from industry, academia and government to:

• Inform the Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative’s efforts to strengthen regional and national manufacturing competitiveness

• Showcase innovations in manufacturing of clean energy technologies and advanced manufacturing in the region

• Highlight federal and state resources for manufacturers and innovators to scale innovation to manufacturing

• Foster networking between innovators, manufacturers and federal and regional resources.

Panel Session I: Sparking U.S. Clean Energy Manufacturing: Innovation and the Bridge to Manufacturing: Private sector perspectives on the regional strengths and priorities on innovations in clean tech manufacturing.

Panel Session II: Enhancing U.S. Competiveness: Advanced Manufacturing for the 21st century: Private sector perspectives on the regional strengths and priorities for the manufacturing innovative technologies.

Attendees will also get an opportunity to interact with representatives from multiple federal agencies that are providing resources for manufacturers in the region during the federal resources panel and resource match making session.

Four to six break-out sessions will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders to give input to DOE’s strategy on manufacturing competitiveness.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Visit the U.S. Department of Energy to register.
