ECE Faculty and Students Win Top Georgia Tech Awards

Three faculty members in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) received top Georgia Tech awards at the Institute’s annual Faculty & Staff Honors Luncheon, held April 17 at the Georgia Tech Student Center Ballroom.

Magnus Egerstedt – Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Advisor Award

Magnus Egerstedt – Outstanding Professional Education Award

Raghupathy Sivakumar – Outstanding Achievement in Research Innovation Award

Doug Williams – Outstanding Service Award

Nine ECE students were among the top award winners at the annual Georgia Tech Student Honors Day, held on April 16 at the Georgia Tech Student Center Ballroom.

The following ECE-specific awards were recognized by College of Engineering Associate Dean Laurence Jacobs at this event. They and over 20 additional students were presented with their awards at the Roger P. Webb Awards Program held on April 22.

George Alexopoulos – Outstanding Electrical Engineering Senior Award

Kenneth Marino – Outstanding Computer Engineering Senior Award

Adam Charles, Zhixuan Xia – ECE Graduate Research Assistant Excellence Award

In addition, these ECE students were also recognized at Georgia Tech Student Honors Day.

Edward Zhu – Excellence in Global Economics and Modern Languages Award

This award is presented to the student who demonstrates outstanding scholarship in the School of Economics and the School of Modern Languages.

Richard Huckaby – Kelley Music Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded each semester through audition to students who demonstrate outstanding musicality, collaboration, and creativity in music performance and/or technical prowess.

David Ehrlich, Philippe Laban – Henry Ford II Scholar Awards

These awards are given to engineering students who have the best academic records at the end of the third year of undergraduate study.

Donnya Ajdari – Helen Grenga Outstanding Woman Engineer Award

This award is presented to a female engineering student who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service in her field and in the Georgia Tech community.
