Erik Axdahl, an aerospace engineering graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, recently traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of the Citizens for Space Exploration (CSE)initiative. CSE works with elected officials, corporate and individual contacts to ensure continued political and public support for the nation's space programs.
Axdahl joined undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities across the nation to inform U.S. Congressional members of the importance they place onthe space program. The students wanted to ensure that their representatives were aware of their support of NASA.
Axdahl noted, "It's important to be on the Hill to put a face on the space program." Axdahl is from Duluth, Minnesota, where he graduated from Duluth East High School in 2003. He received a bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 2007.
