The University System of Georgia Board of Regents (BOR) approved tuition rates for the 2015-16 academic year at its April 14 meeting at Georgia Gwinnett College.
The BOR approved a 9 percent increase in Georgia Tech’s in-state undergraduate tuition, or an additional $404 per semester, bringing it to $4,905 per semester for next year. Out-of-state tuition will increase by 6 percent, or an additional $849, amounting to $15,002 per semester.
For graduate students, in-state tuition will increase by 9 percent, but includes a $100 shift from the Special Institutional Fee (SIF). In-state tuition next year will be $6,726 per semester. For out-of-state graduate students, tuition will increase by about 1 percent and also includes a $100 shift from the SIF, bringing it to $13,936 per semester.
All other mandatory fees for Georgia Tech students will remain the same next year. Georgia Tech has requested that the SIF be reduced by $100 each of the next five years until the fee is eventually eliminated for graduate students.
Georgia Tech continues to be acknowledged as one of the best investments in higher education. For two years in a row, PayScale.com has ranked Tech No. 1 for annualized return on investment in its College ROI Report.
Nearly all of Tech’s incoming in-state freshmen receive either the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship. In total, more than 60 percent of Tech students receive some form of financial aid through the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
