2016 H-1B Cap Met, USCIS Will Conduct Lottery

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. According to the trend of past years, USCIS stopped accepting H-1B applications on April 7th and will now proceed using a lottery system to determine who will receive H-1Bs for FY 2016. While USCIS has not yet provided the number of applications that they received, last year USCIS received 87,500 additional applications over the 65,000 cap.
