Some of the many and various functions of the GT Alumni Association will be presented.
Speaker Bio:
Mr. Joseph P. Irwin is the president of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. He joined the Alumni Association in 1999. Irwin began his career with Russell Corporation as a Los Angeles sales representative in 1980 and worked his way up to JERZEES Division President in 1994 – a division with $500 million in sales and 10% net operating profits, a $25 million budget and a
staff of 135.
Irwin performed graduate work in a master’s program at the University of North Texas. He is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership and has continued his education through a variety of professional development programs.
Joe Irwin and his brother, Mike, wrote a book, Cathedrals of College Football, which highlights 25 football dynasties, including Georgia Tech.
Irwin has been active with the Boy Scouts of America, United Way, variety International charity, and the Bobby Dodd Institute. He’s on the board of the Council of Alumni Association Executives (CAAE) and the Georgia Tech Facilities Board.
