2015 SAR Architecture for Health Spring Conference & Chautauqua 5.0 on Regional Healthcare Architecture (South Atlantic Region)

Ambulatory Care in the Evolving Healthcare Environment

The 2015 AIA AAH SAR Chautauqua Conference, our annual Healthcare Planning Conference, is being held on August 13th and 14th 2015 in midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The conference will focus on Ambulatory Care and how healthcare delivery systems are moving toward more outpatient services in response to marketplace demands. The conference will kick off on the evening of August 13th with a reception at Georgia Tech’s SimTigrate Design Lab in Tech Square. Led by Dr. Craig Zimring, the SimTigrate Design Lab combines research and full-scale, virtual, and statistical process simulation to improve the safety, quality, and experience of care and control costs, with a particular emphasis on understanding the role of the built environment in quality improvement. During the reception attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Lab and discuss recent research projects. On the 14th, the Conference will move to the Academy of Medicine, approximately one block from the SimTigrate Design Lab. The day’s sessions will include a panel of local and regional healthcare providers who will discuss their strategies related to this transition and three sessions in which nationally known speakers outline the issues involved and ideas for developing successful Ambulatory Care facilities.
