Summary Sentence: This symposium brings together professional and academic leaders in the facility management industry.

Full Summary: This symposium brings together professional and academic leaders in the facility management industry including key facility management professional associations, IFMA and RICS, along with invited academic research institute leaders for the symposium/workshop to review state-of-the-art research and define recommended core competencies to be shared.  This will bring academic rigor to the ISO standard currently in development, set a global research agenda, and positively advance research efforts for students conducting research in the U.S., U.K. and other locations. Georgia Tech students and faculty are invited to attend.

The International Symposium on Facility Management Standardization and Research, co-sponsored by LIverpool John Moores University and The College of Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology will be held May 21-22, 2015, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. 

This 1 1/2 day event begins with an exciting welcome reception at the world famous CNN Center on Thursday, May 21. The reception will include a tour of the center. This get-aquainted event will allow attendees to meet prior to the full day session on Friday. On Friday, May 22, the event continues in the newly renovated Caddell Building on the Georgia Tech campus, home to the graduate FM program. 

IFMA and RICS senior leaders, along with some key FM academics, will then set the stage for the full day symposium with updates on the status of FM standards and research. The workshop portion of the symposium will have facilitated break-outs for continued discussion.

As a leader in research and knowledge generation in the industry, your support and attendance to represent the profession and its needs. We request that you attend and influence the direction of the symposium and outcomes. Your input and expertise is crucial to this process.
