Abstract:
To inform students about the industry of electrical engineering which designs the power distribution systems for buildings and is tasked to design these systems to protect the public from the hazards associated with medium and high voltages required to provide power to fuel the nation’s economy and how fun and rewarding this field can be.
Speaker Bios:
Butch Woodyard Graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in March 1980 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. While in school he worked summer jobs as a warehouse assistant in an electrical distributor, an electrician, and as a lighting sales representative. After graduation he went to work as a project manager for an electrical contractor. He was hired away into the consulting engineering field. In 1989, at the age of 29, he co-founded Barrett, Woodyard and Associates (BWA). Butch has been the engineer for thousands of projects around the country. BWA has grown over the years to now have offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, and Raleigh.
