The winning project is a riverside-based metro station that uses boats as vehicles for public transportation in the city of Valdivia, Chile. Valdivia is a city of high seismic activity, in which the strongest earthquake ever registered took place in 1960. The project uses the Calle-Calle River and seismic-resistant wood structures to curtail the current heavy urban traffic.
