Architecture Professor Rodrigo Aguilar and 4 architecture students from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile (Paula Farfán, Esteban Paredes, María Pía Mendoza & Nicolás Pinares) present the winning project in the 2014 CORMA competition, a national architecture contest in Chile. The winning project is a riverside-based metro station that uses boats as vehicles for public transportation in the city of Valdivia, Chile. Valdivia is a city of high seismic activity, in which the strongest earthquake ever registered took place in 1960. The project uses the Calle-Calle River and seismic-resistant wood structures to curtail the current heavy urban traffic.
