Though Tech is known for its strength in popular American sports such as football and baseball, students are taking the time to learn about sports that are popular the world over.
The Student Government Association (SGA) hosted the first-ever Global Sports Showcase at Georgia Tech on Friday, March 6. The event highlighted the diversity of Tech’s student body by having sports groups teach and demonstrate their sport to participating students.
The Global Sports Showcase gave Tech students the opportunity to experience eight international sports: soccer, rugby, field hockey, cricket, capoeira, fencing, kali, and disc golf.
The event was sponsored by SGA and the Office of International Education.
