*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Summaries

Summary Sentence: The School of Physics attempts to create the largest spiral wave in the world.

Full Summary: The School of Physics attempts to create the largest spiral wave in the world. All are encouraged to join in on this potentially record-breaking event!

Please join Associate Professor Flavio Fenton, Dr. Ed Greco and the School of Physics on the Tech Green. Together, we will attempt to break the world record for the largest spiral wave ever created and eat a few free Krispy Kremes in the process.

All participants will be listed as coauthors on a forthcoming journal article investigating the nature of spiral waves in large crowds. If we have enough participants this could break an additional world record for most coauthors!

A video of the 2014 attempt is available on YouTube.

This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
