There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Are we playing God with our future or saving humankind? Join us for an interactive discussion panel featuring a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, an FBI Special Agent, an immunologist from the CDC, a professor from Georgia Tech and an ethicist from Emory. We will discuss what synthetic biology is, what good it can do, the potential dangers of this technology, public perceptions about the field, and other topics relevant to synthetic biology's potential role in society.
This panel is offered in collaboration with the Atlanta Science Festival and is organized by the Lambert High School iGEM team.
