Faculty committees have a say in many decisions about academic life at Tech, and new members are needed to serve on these groups beginning this fall.
The committees cover a range of topics such as benefits, curriculum, regulations, and academic integrity.
“These committees are the crux of faculty governance at Georgia Tech,” said Martha Grover, vice chair of the Faculty Executive Board and chair of the Nominating Committee. “Many initiatives and new programs originate in these committees.”
Vacancies exist on a number of committees:
A description of each committee can be found at c.gatech.edu/facultycommittees.
Faculty members are asked to nominate themselves or others by Friday, Feb. 27. Candidates will be selected from the pool of applicants and put to a vote during the spring. Those elected will serve a three-year term from August 2015 to August 2018.
Nominations can be submitted to nominations2015@lists.gatech.edu. The Faculty Executive Board will attempt to honor requests for particular committees but may be constrained by requirements associated with particular seats and the attempt to maintain a balance of campus representation on all committees.
