Summary Sentence: application deadline

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

The President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology has called for 100,000 new teachers in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In response, the National Science Foundation (NSF) Robert Noyce Scholarship Program is working with the nation’s top universities to attract and support college graduates who have demonstrated their potential in these fields.

Claremont Graduate University in Southern California recently received a NSF Noyce grant. CGU runs a nationally recognized teacher education program and is now offering a number of fellowships (5-year, full-pay) that would allow STEM students to pursue a career in high-school science/math teaching.  This program specifically targets Science and Math, and after successfully completing this program students would emerge with a Master’s in Education and a California teaching credential – all virtually debt free.

Total benefits include up to $46,000 to cover tuition costs, up to $55,000 in living stipends and salary supplements, and fund to attend and present at local and national conferences.

Required commitment is 3 – 5 years depending on the program.
