There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

In her dissertation work, Dr. Brook Sattler explored how to support engineering undergraduates in becoming self-authoring—a mindset associated with being able to step outside of situations and explore them in light of one’s own values and beliefs. As you are navigating your graduate career, it can be an important time to be aware of how you are being socialized to a discipline and the potential to be a self-authoring scholar. In this brown bag session, Dr. Sattler will share background information from her dissertation work and brainstorm with you—Georgia Tech graduate students— connections and implications to your graduate career.
Dr. Brook Sattler completed her Ph.D. in Human Centered Design and Engineering in 2012 from the University of Washington. She is currently a Research Scientist at the Center for Engineering Learining and Teaching at UW. Dr. Sattler will be visiting Georgia Tech as part of the Consortium for the Promotion of Reflection in Engineering Education Grant (CPREE) through the University of Washington.
