Atlanta Internet security firm Damballa raises $13M

Atlanta web security firm Damballa has raised  $13 million — capital it will use for customer acquisition and overseas growth.

The Georgia Tech spinoff has developed technology that sniffs out dangerous software — or malware — hiding in enterprise and telecommunications networks. This malware remotely hijacks computers to commit fraud, creating what’s referred to as “bot armies.”
